David Kleeman is Executive Director of the American Center for Children and Media, which promotes the exchange of ideas, expertise, and information as a means for building quality. ACCM services and activities often bridge technological, geographic or professional borders. The Center looks worldwide for models of excellence. David is principal consultant to the international children's TV festival (PRIX JEUNESSE); he created and manages its Web Prize competition. He has been deeply involved in the World Summits on Media for Children, and ACCM was the US partner in North America's Summit 2000 for media professionals and educators. Kleeman is in demand as an author, speaker, consultant, strategist and analyst on children's media. He conducted a major strategic planning project for PBS Kids under a grant from the Markle Foundation, and has been an advisor to organizations as diverse as the US Department of Commerce, Microsoft, the MIT Media Lab, UNICEF and the former Fox Family Channel. Kleeman is a graduate of Harvard College. Married, and with two adolescent daughters, he discovered that running offers time with no phones, computers, TV or sibling squabbles. (2005)
