Lauren Zalaznick , president, Bravo

Lauren Zalaznick, appointed President of the Bravo cable television network in May 2004, oversees all programming, marketing, digital and new business strategies for the network.

Under the watch of Zalaznick, Bravo has become the #1 ranked network for upscale, affluent viewers across all cable entertainment networks. In addition, during this time, Bravo has garnered outstanding critical acclaim including five Emmy Award nominations for series including “Project Runway,” “Inside the Actors Studio,” “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” and “Project Greenlight”; and has developed and launched pop culture buzz-generating shows like “Kathy Griffin: My Life On the D-List" and "Being Bobby Brown.”

Zalaznick held the role of President of the Universal-owned TRIO network from May 2002 to December 2005. As President of TRIO, Zalaznick distinguished the network as the TV destination for pop culture entertainment. Tagged the "IT" cable network by "Entertainment Weekly" and called "the hidden gem in the Vivendi Universal assets crown" by the "Wall Street Journal," TRIO was awarded the prestigious Peabody Award for the acclaimed documentary “The N-Word” which aired in 2004.

Prior to joining TRIO, Zalaznick served as Senior Vice President, Original Programming and Development for VH1, where she supervised the creation and production of VH1's most watched series, documentaries, concerts and specials, including VH1’s Divas and the VH1 Fashion Awards. She also served as Executive Producer on the first ever Paramount Pictures/VH1 Film co-production, "Zoolander" (2001), directed by and starring Ben Stiller.

Additionally, Zalaznick's early career was focused on film. She produced a number of independent feature films including Larry Clark's award-winning "Kids" (Cannes 1995); Todd Haynes' "Safe" (Cannes 1995) starring Julianne Moore; and Jim McKay's award-winning "Girls Town" (1996 Sundance Film Festival Filmmakers Trophy and Special Jury Prize).

Zalaznick's work has been highly praised by industry organizations and the media. She has been nominated for ten Emmy Awards and has won numerous accolades and awards including being recognized by Multichannel News as a “2005 Wonder Woman.” Also in 2005, she was recognized for the second consecutive year by the Hollywood Reporter as one of the “Top 100 Women in Entertainment,” and Cable World selected her as one of the “Top 50 Women In Cable.” In 2004, she was featured in Variety's "Women in Showbiz" issue, and was also named the “Top Programming Executive” by CableFax Daily.

Zalaznick received her BA degree from Brown University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
