Vickee Jordan Adams is U.S. Director of Media Communications and Senior Vice President of Hill & Knowlton, where she is responsible for leading Hill & Knowlton's media communications strategy for clients. Generating revenue by growing the media and presentation skills training discipline, her charter has been to convert a specialist discipline into a fully integrated, national practice. Based in H&K's New York office, she leads a team of former journalists and top public relations executives. Prior to H&K, she was with Dow Jones & Company where she was Director of Corporate Communications, where she had media relations responsibility for The Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Journal Online, Dow Jones Newswires and other operations. Prior to joining Dow Jones, Adams was Senior Vice President at Ketchum Public Relations where she oversaw a team of international communications specialists and built a global practice. Prior to Ketchum, she was Vice President and Manager of communications training for PR firm, Burson-Marsteller. Throughout her career, Adams has volunteered her professional expertise to non-profit and for profit boards of directors. She founded The Urban Leadership Forum with colleagues who supported the equal opportunity efforts of the National Urban League. She also served as a Press Aide on the Surrogates Desk for the Democratic National Convention Committee in New York and Chicago. This past year, she was a speaker at the Democratic National Caucus in Pennsylvania and was appointed to the board of the Counselor's Academy of the Public Relations Society of America. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Trustees for the WNYC Foundation, National Public Radio's New York City affiliate. Adams is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She and her husband have two children and live outside New York City, in Westchester. (2006)
